    Comments, Additional Information, References

The Roudabush Survey stated the address as 1351 Center Rd.; however, the current address is 1349 Center Rd. confirmed by house address. 1351 is valid in tax records but 1349 is not, a situation where multiple postal addresses for different residences occur within a single physical property address used in tax rolls.

The space between stones is scored vertically. A thin double edged tool was used, which scored two parallel lines, leaving the mortar between the lines appear to be raised. Roudabush Survey page 27

Owners: Original: Lot purchased by Ryan Barber 1844; Subsequent owners: Lot purchased by Dan Dutcher 1857 who likely built the house afterwards; Robert Wilson 1867. Per Letter written to Cary Lattin 2/19/1974.

Second story of south wing added on 1870-1880 (best guess) by Robert Wilson after the removal of the roof to enable construction to begin. It began to rain and continued thru a very wet summer. The family spent most of the summer sweeping the water out of what was the kitchen and stone hunting on the lake shore, as the stones they gathered previously were not all suitable.
An other event the life of the house occurred when it was struck by lightning. No fire occurred, but it did cause the house to crack vertically at all four corners of the old 2 story original. This occurred prior to May 29, 1907 when Robert T Wilson had the house and barns rodded by North American Lightning rod Co. The Reyburn Hanlir Corp thru its agents Shaaps and Wood of Philadelphia Pa. doing the installation and issuing the guarantee. Letter by R. C. Wilson, previous owner, 10/14/1994.
